Baguio City 2011

Lower Session Road

Two weeks ago, I went to a place I call home. This is the place where all started, and a place where I found my real self. Welcome back to Baguio City, Philippines.

During my trip to the city, I visited some place that were very memorable to me. It’s nice to look back on good memories, but after all you will feel the emptiness of the places. Whatever it is, with my friends being there, I enjoyed my short vacation in Baguio. Let me share some snaps and the great places I visited.

UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2011

It’s back to back to black. Thank you very much Madonna. ❤

Last Saturday was a blast for all the university students, and to not-so-much-of-a student (like me), as the UAAP Cheerdance competition took place in the Big Dome. Like the past years, the scenario of long lines, campings, line cutters, and high ticket prices from “fixers” never changed – These, for the love of school spirit.

Since I came from University of the Philippines (UP), some of my friends and I went to see the event live. We always do it every year, specially that UP is aiming to defend its crown from the last two year’s competition. This is my third time to watch them live, but I always do watch the show before on TV.

Let me share some of my snaps, and I am sorry this is the best seat I could get (thanks to Beans for my tickets!). Believe me, the tickets are just like love… It’s hard to get. Chos. 🙂

Of course in every competition, there are winners.

Congratulations to the UP Pep Squad for bagging the title once again! Your UP fans are hoping for another title next year, and and swag-er performance. Unibersidad ng Pilipinas!

BTW, obviously I was not able to take photos of the UP Pep Squad. That’s because I am too busy cheering for them, okay? Sarreh! 🙂

My Earth Hour Activity

As we all know, last night was Earth Hour. For those who are not aware of it, it’s an event when we remind ourselves to save energy (to make a difference in saving mother earth), by switching off our lights for 1 hour. I am not sure when this thing started, but it happens every year. This is my first time to participate on this activity.

Since the lights are off, I decided to do some sort of experiment (or “self-absorbed activity” if you wanna call it that. Haha!) during the “switch-off hour.” I took some photos of my room and myself with the lights switched off. So the only source of light in these photos is the built in camera flash. Of course, with some help of Adobe Photoshop, the photos looked better. Let me share some snaps with you.

Alright! That’s it folks. Thank you for all those who joined the Earth Hour. Of course, this cause can also be done whenever and wherever. The more we practice energy conservation, the better. For those who were not able to participate this year, don’t worry, maybe you could join next year.

Let’s all give Mother Earth a helping hand.

2011 NYC ball drop

As what I’ve mentioned the last time, I am now posting something about the Times Square 2011 ball drop (since I still can’t get enough the New Year celebration).

Every year, I’ve been watching the Times Square new year ball drop, simply because of my love for the city. I’ve never been there, but I so love to be there. Sure a lot of people already told me that NYC is a very busy and chaotic city. But for me, to be on that city during a New Year’s eve is always a dream.

I started watching the ball drop since I was in High school. Then, I’ve started watching TV series involving the city like CSI: NY; from time to time, Gossip Girl, etc. Then I realized that I am already so into the city that I made a promise to myself that I will be there on a New Year’s eve… Even just once in my life. Of course, this did not happen this year, but hopefully will happen soon.

If there would be one thing I really want to happen in my life, my answer would be this thing. To be in NYC to celebrate a NYE.

Of course, before that will happen… I need to find a better paying job. Yea!

Hello 2011!

It’s a start of a new year once again, an I hope everyone greeted the year 2011 with a blast!

Last night, New Year’s eve, was a great night. Though I did not stayed too late compared to other new year’s eve I’ve had, I still enjoyed the warm company of my family, the good food, and of course the bright lights of the fireworks!

This post will serve as a living proof of my gratitude to all my rich neighbors who were able to afford all the cool fireworks. Guys, thank you! I enjoyed your fireworks a lot (Haha!).

Next stop! I am currently watching the New York City New Year’s Eve countdown in Times Square (in TV only, can’t afford to go there yet). This has been a part of my yearly New Year activity. Will post it next time 🙂
